The Acceptance of Opportunities

If you've been reading my blogs lately you know that I am spending quite a bit of my brain power on the Law of Attraction and its uses in all areas of life.

The basic premise is that what you think about happens and that your thoughts control how the Universe responds to you. If you want something, the Universe provides it. Which makes me wonder, how often does the Universe provide us opportunities that we don't accept?

Take for instance the desire to become wealthy. There are only two ways to increase wealth - make more money and spend less money.

Now suppose you go out to lunch with a friend who offers to pick up the tab. The Universe has just provided you with an opportunity to not spend $10. Do you take it willingly and say thank you to your friend or do you think you are supposed to argue and demand to pay your half?

And what about what are doing to your friend? If she offered to pay the bill for you, she is getting something she wants out of the offer. Maybe she wants to feel generous. Maybe she wants to feel superior. Maybe she thinks you have given her some good advice or just some company when she needed it and she wants to repay the kindness. By not accepting her offer to pay, you are denying her a path to show her gratitude.

Now I'm not advocating sponging off your friends. But when you intensely want something like more wealth, pay attention to the multitude of ways the Universe is giving it to you. Open your eyes to the new people you could meet who could become clients or offer you a new job. There is money everywhere if you are open to accepting it.

Here is my challenge to you. Find something you really, really want. Spend 5 minutes thinking about it intensely and feeling what it will be like to have it. Then spend the next 24 hours looking for signs that the Universe is moving you towards it. I'll bet you'll find more than you ever thought possible.

Give it a try and have fun with it. Life is much more interesting when you realize the Universe is conspiring to get you what you want!
