Have you noticed what has happened with Sarah Palin, John McCain’s choice for Vice President?
This little-known governor from a faraway state came out of nowhere to be one of the hottest tickets in the country.
A few weeks ago I’ll be you couldn’t find anyone outside of Alaska who knew who she was. So why is she the talk of the town now? And how can you be too?
Sarah was doing okay as governor of Alaska but she was a long way from big power. Now, she’s just a few votes and a heart attack from being President.
Sarah’s secret is that she caught the eye of someone who was already in power, that is, someone who already had great visibility and credibility. It is the combination of visibility and credibility that attracts people to you.
So often we work hard and build our own credibility but we lack the necessary funds or resources to create amazing visibility. The result is that we are relatively successful but not amazingly successful.
Who could make you incredibly visible in your market? Who could take you under their wing, partner with you or even actively promote you to send you soaring to success?
Don’t worry about whether you know this person or not, just make a list of 10 people who could change your life and your business overnight. People like Oprah or Bill Gates or Donald Trump.
Then start asking around to see if anyone you know knows how you might contact them.
You’d be amazed at how quickly you’ll get access to the big folks. I recently wanted a contact at the Ellen Degeneres show for a project I’m working on for homeless animals and within a week I had several people with ways to get in touch with her.
Give a go. I’m not promising you can become President but you just might find someone to take your business from thousands to millions (or millions to billions) faster than you think!
